A Brazilian mom who couldn't find the right books
Blaze Into Learning started at our kitchen table, teaching our own three kids to speak, read and write Portuguese.
I'm Michelle Blaisdell. I was born in Brazil and have lived in the United States since I was a child. When I started teaching my own kids Portuguese at home, I found great programs for Brazilian children and great apps for vocabulary, but nothing that taught English-speaking kids to speak, read and write Portuguese step by step.
So I started writing the books myself, with my kids as the characters.
Lia, Mia and Elí are my children with different names. Blaze Into Learning is that work grown into a full program: wholesome stories, real Brazilian culture, and lessons a busy parent can open and teach.
